This programme will provide the learner with an opportunity to develop their language skills and knowledge to be better able to face the challenge of the IELTS exam. Even without taking the exam, the learner will gain real benefit with all round English improvement.

IELTS preparation is delivered as a full-time morning course from 8:30am to 2:30pm Monday to Thursday, or as an evening course from 5.00pm through to 9.15pm Monday to Friday and includes 20 hours of tuition per week.

Certification & Recognition

Certification in issued by International House Sydney - Teacher Training and Professional Centre upon sucessful completion of the course.

Those students who wish to take the IELTS test will also receive a test score from the IELTS organisation.

The IELTS Preparation course focuses on:

• Increasing your English language skills in the Key IELTS test areas - Writing, Speaking, Listening and Reading
• Increasing your general English ability in grammar, vocabulary and functional language
• Building familiarity with the IELTS test format
• Practicing a range of test-taking strategies within given time limits
• Developing confidence in English and for the exam itself

Regular in-house monthly testing an exam preparation is incorporated into the programme.
All students wishing to take the IELTS exam will have had full mock exam practice.

Course Details

There are two levels of the IELTS Preparation programme:

• Intermediate (IELTS 4.5 - 5.0): for students aiming for IELTS 6.0
• Upper Intermediate/ Advanced (IELTS 5.5 - 6.5): for students aiming for IELTS 7.0 and above

IELTS Preparation is a 12 week course for each level.

Class Size

Class sizes are small and average less than 12 students.

Visas

Students can study IELTS preparation on a variety of visas:

• student visas (only available for full time students)
• working holiday visas
• visitor visas

They are all highly experienced teachers of English and IELTS preparation specialists who have extensive experience in preparing students for English exams and in teaching Academic English in Australia and overseas. They have already achieved outstanding results and are passionate about their work and committed to the success of their students.
