The International House Worldwide Organisation (IH) is the oldest and largest independent network of language schools in the world, with over 120 affiliate schools operating in 38 countries, it teaches c.100,000 students at any one time. Philosophy
As an affiliate member of the International House Worldwide Organisation (IH) IH Sydney – TTPC is proud of IH’s history and international reputation as a premium provider of language programmes and training. Since 1953 IH has provided quality ESL / EFL services to governments, institutions, schools and students around the world. IH’s founding philosophy to raise the standards of language teaching worldwide is very much at the forefront of our activities today. IH Sydney – TTPC’s ongoing pursuit of quality, access to global resources and affiliation to the IH worldwide organisation sets it apart. It is able to provide a broader range of TESOL products and services than an independent language school and a more specialised focus than a multi disciplinary university.

TESOL teacher training & professional development
IH Sydney – TTPC is one of the largest teacher training centres in Australasia accredited by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES).
IH Sydney – TTPC offers teacher training programmes that can be run at the client’s own institute (in-country) or at its centre in Sydney. Cambridge certificate and tailor made courses are available to provide initial teacher training or ongoing professional development. Courses are available for non-native and native English speakers, individuals and groups.
 Supportive and highly qualified trainers
IH Sydney – TTPC selects its teacher trainers based upon their qualifications, level and range of experience, their demonstrated expertise as trainers and managers, their communication skills and ability to support trainees. Its trainers hold the Cambridge Diploma of English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA), the highest qualification within the Cambridge teaching system. Additionally, they all hold further related university qualifications such as B.A. (Hons) in English and M.Ed. in Adult Education Training & Development.
These qualifications are enhanced by their extensive and varied work experience. All of IH Sydney – TTPC’s trainers have worked for a minimum of 10 years in ELT. Its trainers have backgrounds in ELT writing, Cambridge CELTA assessment, Cambridge DELTA examining, educational project co-ordination and management as Director of Studies and School Directors. Collectively, they have worked and lived in over 26 countries.

Additionally, IH Sydney - TTPC offers teaching positions at its Sydney school to many of its top graduates to work on short and long term contracts. It can also provide an ongoing stream of students if you wish to provide homestay accommodation and home tutorial to overseas students.
IH Sydney - TTPC devotes one session of the Cambridge CELTA course to providing detailed information on how to find a job. It has established relationships with a number of recruitment agencies, it regularly posts lists of positions vacant on its job centre noticeboard and refers details of CELTA graduates to other schools who recruit directly from its courses.

 Training in Sydney
Overseas participants can gain greater skills by studying in an English speaking environment.
Situated in the centre of the city, IH Sydney – TTPC provides a stimulating environment for teacher training. Facilities include self-access library, modern classrooms and a student refreshment lounge. The centre is conveniently accessible by public transport and is within walking distance of Sydney’s famous tourist attractions.
University recognition
Advanced standing (credits) can be gained by graduates of the Cambridge CELTA at University of Wollongong.
TESOL teaching materials
IH Sydney – TTPC’s curriculum unit is part of a worldwide network of teachers and trainers at the cutting edge of TESOL materials development. Many international best selling course books have been written by International House teachers, such as the Cutting Edge, Headway, Choice and True to Life series, as well as many methodology, training and development materials.
IH Sydney – TTPC’s curriculum writers have created the International English Certificate©. It comprises “The English Classroom” and “The Academic English Classroom” – complete sets of English language classroom materials, visuals and on-line programmes for further self study. Certification is awarded by International House Sydney – TTPC upon successful completion of each “Classroom”.

IH Sydney – TTPC can help new and established schools improve the quality of the programmes and support services they provide to their students and staff through a range of educational consultancy services.
Its consultants offer quality assurance assessments, evaluation and recommendations for operational systems and training in the implementation of TESOL curriculum.
Its curriculum team design and write both published TESOL curriculum materials and specific purpose TESOL materials for clients worldwide.
